A last minute goal gave Queen of the South al three points when we visited Palmerston Park earlier in the season. The goal scored by Paul Burns was the perfect and to a poor match.

Queen of the South

Sandy Stewart needs to build on what was a good result against St Mirren on Tuesday night.  The 1-1 result was more than most of us expected and just shows that when the team play together and fight for a full 90 minutes what they are capable of .

This weeks match sees us take on Queen of the South one of the three teams sitting below us in the league, their last match saw them defeated 3-2 by Ross County in what has been their best match of the season.

Sandy will be without Stephen Docherty, suspended and Gary Twigg still out with ligament damage. Apart from Stephens ordering off we came through the match in good shape. Lets hope the fighting spirit continues we need as many points from the next few games so lets just go for it.

Ian McCall is now the manager of Queen of the South and will make his first managerial appearance in Airdrie since his ill fated alignment back in the dark old days.

McCall is with out three players for this weeks match, Brian McColligan is still suspended Brian Reid has been ruled out with a hamstring injury and Brian McLaughlan is still recovering from an injury.

Up until this season we have never had Hardie as a ref now in only  nine games he is back. He took control of the Brechin Airdrie 1-1 game early in the season.

Recent history is against us on this one but if we want to make sure we have some breathing space we have too win. 3-1 to Airdrie and Prunty to get a brace.
