I am going to start this article with a little look at West Ham United and what it means to them to win the play off finals. Estimates say that the club have collected a wind fall off up to 50 million Euros (that's almost £34million) and is said to be the equivalent, in monetary terms, of Liverpool winning the Champions League.

Airdrie :- Have begun pre-season training and as posted on the Stomp there are a few new faces on trial with us. The prices for the Motherwell friendly have also bee confirmed.

Brechin City :- Have lost out to Dundee for the signature of Gerry Britton as part of their back room staff. If I was a Brechin fan I would be laughing up my sleeve and grateful he has gone else where.

Clyde :- Simon Mensing has departed to Jin up with Owen Coyles St Johnstone. They have made two new signings Steven O'Donnell of Boston United and Billy Brawley of non-league Selkirk.

Dundee :- Have managed to scupper Craig Levein as he tried to take some of the Dens park players. As above Gerry Britton has joined their back room staff meaning Airdrie fans get a chance to shout more abuse at him. Lee Wilkie will under go another knee operation before the start of the season and finally the SFA have agreed to hear the appeal as the continue to fight relegation.

Hamilton : - All seems to be quiet on the Southern front.

QOTS :- are also being very quiet at the moment.

Ross County :- all the news surrounds the signing of John Robertson as manager.

St Johnstone :- The main news seems to be the signing of Mensing from Clyde

St Mirren :- un-confirmed rumours say that they are looking to bring in another two strikers before the season kicks off and they have announced that Mixu will be staying with them.

Stranraer :- Have lost Frazer Wright to Kilmarnock.

Now on to the Self Preservation League

Under a formula agreed by the clubs, all SPL revenues, once running costs and payments to the Scottish Football League and to the relegated clubs are stripped out, are split with 48 percent shared equally among the clubs and the remaining 52 percent divided on where each finished in the League.

Although the final figures have yet to be worked out, the 12 clubs stand to share between £12m and almost £14m. As champions, Rangers will receive the lion's share, 17 per cent, of the bonus money, equivalent to between £2.04m and £2.38m, with runners-up Celtic picking up 15 percent.
