Well that was one to forget, we may have lost at home to Livingston and  struggled against Stranraer but yesterday's match against East Fife was a terrible game for the Diamonds. I don't think we could have scored from open play if we had another 90 minutes so thankfully we got a soft penalty and had the chance to make things level.

All Airdrie fans know that a we are week against cross balls in to the box, any ball that splits Boateng and Stewart leaves us very vulnrable and that's where East Fife's goal came from. So...

1. Boateng has to start timing/judging his jumps better.
2. Scott Stewart and Boateng need to communicate better, with Scott Stewart attacking the ball in the air assuming Boateng has missed it.
3. Rohan Ferguson needs to start commanding his area better.
4. Stop opposing teams from crossing the ball in the first place don't stand off them
5. We're just shite and we need to close the doors and don't go back to games.

These were the suggestions going around where I sit in the stand and to be honest four of the five have merit one should be ignored, because it doesn't solve anything.

Airdrie started well enough a couple of half chances fell to Ryan Conroy hit a nice free kick in to the defence, Andy Ryan had achance but sent it wide but it was East Fife who took the lead after fourteen minutes Kevin Smith rose to head home from Mark Lamonts cross ball that every Airdrie fan nows we can't defend against.

Fourteen minutes in and Airdrie's head goes down, you can see it on the players faces, here we go again, it doesn't make a difference what we do if we keep loosing goals like that! The fans can see and that's where your captain steps up, that's where your leaders on the pack take a stand, well yesterday Airdrie would have been waiting a long time for that to happen. 

East Fife looked the most likey to score in the remainder of the first half even though Airdrie did have two or three strong penalty shouts, which were either ignored or simply not seen by the referee.

You would have expected, hoped for a bit of drive at the start of the second half well there was and it all came from East Fife, Airdrie looked as though we weren't one-nil down and things would be alright in the end.

Well the chance came when Ryan was tackled in the box, he was hit there's no doubt but it was the softest of our penalty shouts. Iain Russell stepped up and sent the big East Fife keeper the wrong way. 1-1 and Airdrie started pushing for the winner......well no not really.

Adam Brown came closest to earning Airdrie three points his low shot forced Hurst to pull off the best save of the game.

Prediction League.

Only one person had 1-1 and as thunderbird has jumped to second spot behind seftonblue (who cannot win the signed top).

On to the first derby of the season and I fear the result.
