More Official Club Partners

June 7 2016

We are very pleased to announce that four further local businesses have joined our club as Official Club Partners. As previously mentioned, each of the Official Club Partners will offer a special discount on their products and services to our season ticket holders for 2016/17. We will also run a wide variety of events in the coming months in conjunction with all the partners.

The next four businesses to have joined the scheme are Cue Here, the West End Bar, Airdrie Turkish Barber and the popular childrens clothing store Pachuco.

Cue Here, owned by Gary Cunningham, has been a favourite haunt of Airdrie fans for a number of years and is also the venue which runs the Neil Love Supporters bus to away games.

Gary is delighted to come on board, stating "It took us a long time to get Airdrie back into the community, now it’s time to get the community back into Airdrie FC."

Scott Rae manages and owns the West End Bar, another popular pre and post match haunt of Diamonds fans. Similar to Gary, Scott is a lifelong Airdrie fan and has supported the club for a number of years now.

Scott said "We are delighted to continue to support the club and are excited to see so many other local companies coming on board for the Official Club Partnership scheme. A successful club leads to a successful town and look forward to some exciting times ahead."

While Suleyman Yildiz is not a native of the town, he already has the Airdrie bug and proudly has his framed partnership certificate and Airdrie calendar on display in his barbers, the aptly named Airdrie Turkish Barber in Alexander Street.

Suley said "I am extremely proud to be associated with Airdrieonians FC. I can see the pride the people have in their local town and club, and that is why I put ‘Airdrie’ into the name of my shop. This is an exciting time for me in opening my new shop and I look forward to see lots of Diamonds in for haircuts!’

Pachuco on Brandon Parade East in Motherwell is owned and run by Paul Marley who said “This is such a great business opportunity for us! A lot of young people make football a big part of their life and offering great deals on designer clothes, we can help them to look good while supporting their beloved Airdrie FC”

We will announce four more Official Club Partners in the next few days.

Ravenscraig and now Pachuco. Must be all part of the master plan, slowly but surely taking over Motherwell.

I used to work in John Collier's on Brandon Parade, while my Dad worked in Burtons there for decades.

"Pachuco on Brandon Parade East in Motherwell is owned and run by Paul Marley".

Is it really? I've heard from a very good source that Mr Marley is not the sole owner of this establishment. Another company has a large stake in Pachuco. You might have heard of it, it's called M & H Logistics!

Thanks for clarifying that Hairy Onion. He has been told by his wife (Director and Company Secretary of M & H) and TW to become an Airdrie partner. The relevance is that Mr Marley as a Celtic supporter with a shop in Motherwell has zero allegiance to Airdrie and the whole thing is just window dressing.

Am I missing something? I'm not sure if the above is being seen as a positive or a negative does it matter who owns a share in what company as long as it's getting the name out there and the Airdrie name is being supported?

It wasn't to long ago that fans on here were complaining Motherwell were handing out leaflets in Airdrie school's if this is just a small get it up them, so be it and here's to many more.

To me it looks like the chairman has used his influence on a friend to get some extra cash in to the club and that can only be a positive surely?

Rubbish Chris I only want Airdrie fans sponsoring Airdrie. How dare the club try and get fans from other clubs to give our team money. Disgusting! Sack the board! In fact bring back Capital Punishment!!!! (Sm105)

Seriously though Diamond Owl are you actually complaining that TW has used his contacts to get a sponsorship for the club because they aren't Airdrie fans???

No, TW hasn't used his contacts to get sponsorship for the club. What my issue is that it's dishonest - it's his companies money that will subsidise this, yet the article makes no mention of him having any link with Paul Marley. I seriously doubt whether Mr Marley said any of what he's quoted to have said.

The point about Mr Marley not being an Airdrie fan and having no love for the club was to indicate that that this sponsorship has nothing to do with him. He's just the patsy. Of course I welcome sponsorship from all sources, but this whole episode seeks to hoodwink the fans.

The one positive is that it as Chris said it gets Airdrie's name in Motherwell town centre and so gets it right up them.

Btw Tory Boy I notice that I didn't get an apology for you trying to rubbish my accurate information. Obviously you don't know the difference between directors and shareholders.

In the grand scheme of things - who gives a @#$%& - and as Chris says - its Airdrie in Motherwell so its worth it for me just to wind them up !

Dishonesty is a bi strong but anyway - dishonesty in football - I've never heard the likes in my life -I'm shocked - I really am(Sm143).

TBH, I'd argue the irrelevance of it all. I'm not sure many of our advertisers or sponsors over the years have had much Airdrie allegiance really. Leave the club to do their thing. If chairman is a shareholder of an organisation and he uses that link to feed the club then good on him.

Unfortunately they don't give a toss about us any more. I met a Motherwell fan on holiday who was completely indifferent towards Airdrie and said that their "rivals" were Hamilton now- he wasn't saying it in a snidey way either to put us down- I think we are genuinely an irrelevance in Motherwell now and it is a 1 way rivalry.

Pachuco, and the other companies, had to pay the club money to do this (approx £1000)

So we've taken a grand off of a company in Motherwell for nothing. All they're looking for is us to shop there, all the club are looking for is for us to shop there and let them know why.

not difficult is it?
