National Christmas Jumper Day

It's been quite a year for the Airdrie Family and our charity exploits, from the 4500 strips donated to KitAid, to the free season tickets, to the many thousands given to the Ayrshire and St Andrews Hospices, and most recently, the money handed over to Poppy Scotland. We have all excelled ourselves considering there is so few of us. And we have two more really worthwhile campaigns to round the year off.We will reveal details of one today, and one tomorrow.

Firstly, some of you may or may not be aware of National Christmas Jumper Day - a campaign being ran by Save the Children UK - where people are being invited to wear their novelty Christmas attire to work on Friday and donate cash. As you will also have seen, we have been selling our own Christmas design in our shop in the Starting Point - albeit in t-shirt form (jumpers to come next year hopefully though!).

To show our support for the campaign, we have now registered as a sponsor, and we will donate £2 from every T-Shirt sale to the campaign. We have around 50 t-shirts to sell, so should reach triple figures, which is then doubled by UK Aid.

We would encourage you to buy (if you can afford to of course!), and wear it with pride on Friday showing off your Airdrie colours with pride ! We will also be having an ML6 Airdrie Xmas T-Shirt pub crawl next Saturday.....but more on that to follow.

If people would like to donate individually, they can text TEAMAIRDRIE to 70050, which will then automatically donate £2.

Well done and thanks to everyone who bought a 'Have an Airdrie Xmas T Shirt'. Just donated £104 from sales, which with the 25% Gift Aid, makes a total of £130 (not including any individual donations). Well done.

Closer to home, we managed to help out the Airdrie Foodbank, and the Advertiser Toy appeal.
