Airdrieonians face Ayr United with new manager Gary Bollan taking a back seat and leaving Paul Lovering to take charge, why? Simply put, Paul has taken the team since Jimmy Boyles departure. To me that’s a sign of respect and it has already impressed me. Gary Bollan has given Paul a chance to impress.

A chance to impress, I suppose that’s what tomorrow’s game is all about. Airdrieonians players have allowed themselves to drift to the bottom of the Scottish First division. These same players now have a chance to prove they do care and can battle for every point.

Looking at the league table isn’t good viewing but we are in no way detached our new manager still has plenty of time to get us out of our predicament and hopefully push on from there.

Paul Lovering will be without John Boyle and Grant Drummond, Nathan Blockley is still struggling with the ankle injury he picked up against Arbroath but the better news is Chris O’niell has returned from suspension.

The prediction league makes strange reading, with 37% of those predicting selecting a home win.
