On the 23rd of August, the eyes of the world are going to be on us and due to nothing more than the poor attendances of the last couple of seasons Airdrieonians fans will be allocated half of the main stand in our own stadium.
This probably equates to about fifteen hundred seats, The Broomfield Stomp would like to suggest that as the TV camera’s pan round, our little corner is awash with red and white. Whether its Airdrie tops, red scarves, white scarves or red and white scarves this is our chance to show the world Airdrieonians are back, we need to stand apart from the red, white and blue carried by our opponents.
This is not a friendship game; we haven’t played them in a league match since the 1992 -93 season where the best we got was a draw, I’ve never seen us beat them and if we can do it in August let’s do it in Red and White.

Flags aplenty.
Saturday would be a good run out for all AIRDRIEONIANS flags....plenty space to show them behind the goals.

Ayr away at the end of the month is a must for flags aswell, they @#$%& need reminded the onians are back more than any.

On live here in Oz and would be good to see plenty of Airdrie flags and I really hope the main stand is full of Airdrie fans too!!

The main stand holds well over 3000 (3,700 I think??) and our initial allocation is more than two thirds of the stand.

Not really a man for colours but don't be letting these tramps monopolise OUR national flag. Anyone still got any photos from our flag day at St Mirren that night?
On the night it will be the noise rather than the colour that will count so let’s make our voices heard. I am really confident we can get a result and that will keep them quiet. A few noisy renditions of Airdrie Boys will have them seething seeing as they are not at liberty to sing it (it’s okay to be up to our knees in Motherwell blood, they don’t matter).

Sad to say it but Union Flags will probably be interpreted as Rangers. Maybe you could wave it upside down to differentiate?

Yeah, also in days gone by waving an upside down in some countries was considered an act of treason. People uprising against a government or monarchy would wave the flag upside down in protest. Conquering armies would also parade captured colours upside down as a symbol of their success.
In modern day, football Ultras on the continent "capture" opposition supporters flags and fly them in the ground or take photos with themselves flying the flag upside down to mock the opposition.

In the spirit of the OP it would have to be old ten bob notes or £100 ones from a Scottish bank. I think I have a few of the former still under the mattress.

How could we slate Rangers about being a newco and skint? That's a bit like Nicola Sturgeon calling someone a fat, ugly, irritating Munter.
