Fixtures released for the Scottish Football League Div 2

Airdrieonians will open season 2013 - 2014 against Forfar Athletic away from home on Saturday the 8th of August.

unfortunately we cannot reproduce the full fixture list but the following links will take you too them.

Even with the release of the fixtures I find myself totally numb to Scottish football and i can't really pick out any fixtures worth talking about.

Probably of most interest will be the home fixture against Rangers on the 2nd of January - 19:45 kick off.

So over to you what are you looking forward too?

It's a winnable first game which is important. 3 points and kick on from there. Rangers a few weeks later if you're looking for excitement.

It is fitting that Forfar are the first opponents of the newly-renamed Airdieonians as they were the first team that Airdrie United played against in a competitive match in 2002.

Is there any reason why the SFL site still shows us as United and not Airdrieonians or has it simply not been update?

At least the official site has the official name and its great to see Airdrieonians on the fixture list again.

I'm really looking forward to this season. Probably be sick of the sight of some/most/all clubs after having played them each 4 times but I think its a decent mix. Few bigger clubs with decent crowds and a bit of atmosphere and then some smaller clubs for a good wee away day.
