You’ve heard it said more than once, but in football a little bit of luck can go a long way to helping your team win a match, well yesterday Dunfermline used up more than their fair share. The TeamRobertson

MotM: StoreyThe first substitution was made after only 5 minutes of the match but unusually it was referee Anthony Law who had to be carried off the park after he seemed to pull a muscle. As is the norm with first division football there is no 4^th official in the stand, so much like a legendary match against Morton, a fan had to run the line.
I don’t think this made much difference to the game but I do question the fact that he was allowed to run the line on the same side of the pitch as the fans he’s just came out of. Especially as the stand at the other side of the park was not being used.When the game restarted Airdrie received there best chance of the game and a quick attack left Baird with only the keeper to beat. Fleming managed to parry Bairds shot away and the chance was squandered.On 20 minutes Dunfermline opened the scoring, a corner to the near post ended up in the back of the net, how it got there I’m simply not sure, Robertson took a tumble and the ball trundled over the line in the stramash. The goal was awarded to Graeme Bayne but it could just have simply been three or four other players.Dunfermline took control of the game after this and Airdrie were forced to defend, and thankfully the home team just couldn’t break us down.We’ve played three games in this league and one thing more than any other has stood out, we’re working hard as a team right up until the 18 yard box and then we simply have nothing to offer, we need a goal scorer!It was obvious in the first half and became even more obvious in the second half that Lovering was getting turned inside out and Kenny made the decision to change things. A Trialist (Nolan) replaced Lovering, Storey switched from the right back (where he had Cardle in his pocket) to the left back position, Smith dropped to the right back position and Nolan scored an own goal with his first touch of the ball. The goal was hit across the face of the eight yard box and when Nolan tried to clear he hit it in to the back of the net.The game was over as a competition but both teams kept trying, kept fighting.
