Saturdays game versus QOTS and even Tuesdays game against Ross County are only tasters for matches like todays, old rivalries bring out the best and worst in us and Airdrie V Partick Thistle is up there as one of the games that get the juices flowing. The results leading up to todays match also help and to be frank, we are performing better than expected.
Is today's match a must win game?
Personally I think our first home game of the league campaign is important it could give us a platform to build from and if we play well it may encourage people back through the gates, it's not a must win but a good fighting performance will go a long way to setting out our stall for this season.
Kenny Black has Paul Lovering in the stands again, with two matches gone in his four game suspension Matthew Hazely has time to make the left back position his own and add to Kenny's selection headache. New arrival Michael Brown may force his way in to Kenny's plans an unknown quality in the middle of the park may be needed to through Ian McCall's plans up the spout. Marc Smyth is also expected to make a return to todays squad.
Ian McCall has more worries than Kenny, Liam Buchanan is a long term injury concern for the Jags and Mark Roberts the player we love to hate is sidelined due to a hamstring injury.
