Typical RMI. They look to have finally uncovered a gem of a manager and he's determined to build a squad of his own to challenge for an immediate return to the Conference. What happens? Put it this way, RMI are now looking for their fourth manager in the past twelve months. Leigh RMI manager Steve Bleasdale has resigned with immediate effect in order to take up the position of assistant manager at League Two outfit Peterborough United, teaming up with former England and Liverpool defender Mark Wright, who was appointed as successor to Posh legend Barry Fry, with the pair previously working together at Chester City.

Bleasdale arrived at Hilton Park towards the end of last season following the resignation of previous manager Geoff Lutley, and although he arrived too late to stop RMI's slide in to Conference North, he did reinstall some pride in the team and club, and even managed to win a couple of games.

He had been planning for an assault on the Conference North title before accepting the offer to join Peterborough, leaving RMI's plans for the new season in disarray.

Although everyone at Unofficial RMI Online wishes Steve the best of luck at Peterborough, it just shows why there is never any stability at RMI, on or off the field, and such matters will have to be sorted out before there is an improvement in cashflow.
