Mark Beesley

According to reports in the media, Leigh RMI boss Phil Starbuck is hot on the heels of the signature of 22 year old former Chester City striker Mark Beesley. Starbuck has reportedly put in an offer for the striker, who was released by Chester earlier this season, but he is apparently losing patience with Beesley as he delays on making a decision on whether to join RMI, or join Conference relegation rivals Northwich Victoria, who are also confident of gaining the striker's signature.

Beesley is wanted as a replacement for former Shrewsbury Town striker Ian Fitzpatrick, who is on loan from Halifax Town. Fitzpatrick has several weeks left on his loan deal but Starbuck is keen to introduce a long-term strategy to his strikeforce, and he feels a permanent signing of Beesley would do just that.
