Leigh RMI fans favourite, former Altrincham goalkeeper Stuart Coburn, has been released from his contract by RMI manager Mark Patterson. It is believed that Patterson feels his best goalkeeping option is former Eire international Gary Kelly, and Patterson felt it was unfair that Coburn had to sit on the bench while he could be continuing his career elsewhere.
The decision is sure to upset the RMI faithful, who rightly voted the inspirational goalkeeper as last season's player of the year.
Also released has been former Bury defender Nicky Hill, who has left the club for Radcliffe Borough.
