RMI target permanent Ford deal?

Speculation is mounting that Leigh RMI manager Mark Patterson is about to approach former Leeds midfielder Mark Ford regarding a permanent transfer to Hilton Park following his release by Third Division outfit Darlington. Ford joined the Quakers in a shock transfer in February 2001 in a £15,000 deal which took him to Feethams from Third Division rivals Torquay United.

Former England Under 21 midfielder Ford, who has also played for Burnley, spent much of last season on loan at RMI and has obviously impressed Patterson enough to persuade the Leigh manager to offer a permanent deal to Ford following his release from his Darlington contract.
