Under-fire striker leaves RMI!

Ex-Scarborough and Doncaster Rovers striker Neil Campbell has ended his short, unsuccesful and unhappy spell at Leigh RMI which saw him fail to score in more than ten appearances. Campbell arrived at Hilton Park along with fellow Scarborough striker Keith Scott in a combined £3,000 deal following the departure of previously chief striker Dino Maamria to Stevenage Borough.

However, while Scott scored on his debut and continued to impress although flattering to deceive and times and even scored the goal that kept RMI in the Conference, Campbell struggled from day one and failed to impress any of the Hilton Park faithful. They quickly made their feelings known as he missed vital chance after vital chance while the pressure was telling with the spectre of relegation looming large over Hilton Park.

Campbell was released from the remaining period of his Scarborough contract last week and has now moved north to Cumbria to sign for Unibond League outfit Barrow.
