Leigh RMI manager Mark Patterson had a busy transfer deadline day with four players going through the Hilton Park door, two through the exit, two through the entry door. Former Bolton Wanderers winger Stuart Whittaker, who signed for the club earlier this season following a succesful loan spell at Hilton Park from Conference rivals Chester City has been released on a free transfer by the club and has signed for relegation rivals Nuneaton Borough.
Former Macclesfield Town striker Damian Whitehead, who struggled to hit form since signing for Leigh RMI last summer, has left on a free transfer to join fellow Conference outfit Northwich Victoria.
However, Patterson did make two additions to his squad in a day of departures at Hilton Park.
19 year old Blackpool full back Guy Heffernan has joined the club on trial and goes straight in to the squad for Saturday's vital game against Forest Green Rovers at Hilton Park.
19 year old midfielder Shaun Dootson has joined on a free transfer from Bolton Wanderers, where he has been in their academy for the past three years but failed to break through into the first team picture despite some encouraging reports.
