Tunisian striker Dino Maamria looks set to be on his way out of Hilton Park after a transfer bid from a Conference rival was accepted earlier today by Leigh RMI. Relegation rivals Stevenage Borough look set to sign former Doncaster striker Maamria, who is RMI's top scorer this season, once Leigh manager Mark Patterson finds a replacement.
Luckily for Leigh, and unlike several players who have left RMI in recent years, Maamria is tied down to a contract at Hilton Park and commands a fee for any transfer taking place during that contract.
However, that obstacle has already been climbed after a fee was agreed between the sides. Maamria won't complete his transfer to Broadhall Way until RMI manager Mark Patterson has found a replacement for crowd favourite Maamria. Despite the transfer activity, Maamria is almost certain to tred the Hilton Park in a Leigh shirt for the last time on Saturday afternoon when RMI take on Southport in the Conference.
