Liverpool-born winger John Hedges joined Leigh Genesis in January 2011 having previously played for Southport and Warrington Town.

Hedges made his Leigh Genesis debut as a substitute in a 3-2 defeat to Radcliffe Borough on Saturday 19th February 2011. His full debut came in a 0-0 draw away to Cammell Laird on Saturday 5th March 2011.
