Leigh Genesis' trip to take on high-flying Chester has now become a weekend fixture having previously been scheduled as a midweek trip.
Having originally been allocated a visit to the Exacta Stadium on Wednesday 20th October, Leigh will now instead make the trip on Saturday 16th October with a 3pm kick off.
The club are still awaiting a confirmed fixture date for Chester’s visit to Crilly Park later in the season, however.
Before then, this Saturday sees Salford City visit Crilly Park for a 3pm kick off before an Evo-Stik League Challenge Cup First Round tie away to Curzon Ashton next Monday (11th October, 7.45pm).
£6.80 return from Newton-le-Willows to Chester on the train - only problem is getting back from Newton as the last bus to Leigh is at 18:14 whereas the 17:50 train only gets in to Newton for 18:29.
Anyone know how much it'd be in a taxi back to Leyth or alternative ideas for the train back? Would be ideal if we could stay for a pint or two in Chester after the game.
Can't you tell I'm busy at work....best alternative and the one I reckon we should go for is £8.30 return from Warrington Bank Quay and then at least we don't have to worry about buses as the last one is at 22:25. Only 27 minutes on the train from Warrington to Chester and all.
Its the same train Matt, just cant understand why its cheaper from Newton than Warrington. You can get a cheap return from Butts Bridge to Warrington on the bus, so that might be the best option.
I'm happy to go along with going from Warrington, just makes things easier.
It's cheaper from Newton because that's Merseyrail and they have deals for going to Chester if memory serves me right whereas Warrington is on it's own in that sense.
