Following on from last night's 3-3 draw away to Chadderton in their first friendly of the summer, Leigh Genesis' league season is appearing swiftly over the horizon with today's release of their Evo-Stik League Division One North fixture list.
Mark Maddox's side begins their campaign with a home fixture against Curzon Ashton at Crilly Park on Saturday 21st August, before a midweek trip across the Pennines to face Wakefield on Tuesday 24th August.
Then follows an FA Cup meeting on Saturday 28th August at home to the winners of the Extra Preliminary Round tie between Maine Road and Runcorn Linnets, two days before AFC Fylde travel to Crilly Park for a Bank Holiday encounter.
With Chester's inclusion in the league, there are twenty three sides taking part in the competition and as such each side has two blank fixtures dates during the season.
The eagerly-anticipated trip to the Deva Stadium to face re-formed Chester comes on Wednesday 20th October, with the return fixture taking place on a matter of weeks later when Chester visit Crilly Park on Tuesday 9th November.
Leigh's Festive programme sees a home game with Radcliffe Borough on Monday 27th December and a New Years Day trip to AFC Fylde, with Radcliffe providing the opposition at Stainton Park for the final game of the season on Easter Monday, 25th April 2011.

Read a report from the Runcorn-Witton game that says Witton looked pretty handy on Saturday - think people tend to forget about them when discussing potential front runners.
Witton have a new manager and virtually a brand new team so hard to know what to expect, although I would think they will be one of the stronger teams, they seem to have a mixture of experienced players who have been at the club before, and some young lads the manager has had at NWCL level at Winsford. Anyway, Mossley have them in the FA Cup on 28 Aug so will have a better idea then.
Think they traditionally have one of the bigger budgets as well, don't they? Be interesting to hear if there are many differences between the North & South divisions.
Well the fans do a lot of fundraising for the club, but they're always moaning about the small budget they have, I suppose they're relating it to a few seasons back when they did have money and nearly won the Unibond Prem twice.
Regarding the league their fans are delighted to be in the North, they complained all last season about the amount of travelling in the South. They all thought they would walk the South last year but obviously didn't, personally I reckon the North is a harder league to win, so it will be interesting to see how they do.
The North certainly seems to have a lot more bigger/recognisable clubs, but the travelling must have been an absolute pain (and Warrington previously when they were in that league)
