Hot on the heels of Jonathan Smith's departure to Lancaster City, popular striker Chris Thompson has left Leigh Genesis to join league rivals Bamber Bridge.
Thompson leaves only a week after completing a full year with the club since originally signing on loan from Blue Square Premier side Barrow in January 2009, with the move becoming a permanent one last summer.
In a total of thirty nine appearances in all competition, nine of which came as a substitute, Thompson managed an impressive goal return of fourteen goals, including four in one game in a 6-1 League Cup win over neighbours Warrington Town last September.
Tommo, who made his Brig debut in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Colwyn Bay, leaves with the best wishes of the club, who hope that his move proves to be a success.
