New fixture dates

Leigh Genesis' recent postponed fixtures at home to Rossendale United and Curzon Ashton have now been allocated new dates in what is rapidly becoming a congested calendar.

The game against Rossendale United, postponed on January 9th, will now take place on Wednesday 17th February 2010.

The fixture against promotion rivals Curzon Ashton, postponed on 16th January, will now take place on Wednesday 24th February 2010.

After defeating Colne 3-1 on Tuesday evening, Genesis have been drawn against league rivals Clitheroe in the Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy Semi Final which will take place at Leyland's County Ground on Wednesday 10th February 2010. Admission is £8 for adults, £4 for concessions with travel details to be confirmed in due course.

the curzon game wont be at the lsv, rugby play barrow at home on sky im afraid.

They're the dates allocated by the league rather than agreed with venues etc, but I think you've nailed it on the head there Nick.

Is there any chance the League could liaise with club regarding available dates at the LSV before allocating games?

Think there has been a degree of that already Paul, that was certainly why the Chorley games were switched, but I don't think we can expect it too often given how many games they will have had to rearrange in the past month.

Check the Official site, 5 of the remaining home games wont be played at LSV!! appears to be all the midweek ones.

Absolutely right we know where we stand, ie we dont, at least not in the eyes of the LSV and Wigan Council.

I know its going over old ground yet again, but how can a club at this level be expected to generate huge profits for the council, no club at this level can possibly run at a profit given the level of attendances, especially when denied the income from catering etc .

All non league clubs rely on their social club and bar income to survive, which is denied to Genesis, what do the council and LSV expect hem to do, where do they expect them to raise the revenue to use the ground.

The sooner this ground is taken out of the hands of local politicians and returned to the clubs to run themselves as at Curzon Ashton, the better

Completely agree Paul. However, given the money involved in the place I don't think we can expect the council to give it up any time soon so alternatives may have to be the answer.
