Cup Ties Confirmed

Although Leigh Genesis find themselves already out of the FA Cup after being knocked out by neighbours Warrington Town in last month’s Preliminary Round, there is plenty of action still to come for Garry Flitcroft’s side, with both the Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy and UniBond League Challenge Cup First Rounds coming soon.

In the League Cup, Genesis have once again been paired with Warrington Town, with the First Round tie to be played on Tuesday 22nd September at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium with a 7:45pm kick off. Having met twice already this season, with one victory apiece, both sides will be keen to gain an upper hand on their rivals.

Meanwhile, the Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy draw has seen Genesis handed a short trip to North West Counties League neighbours Atherton Laburnum Rovers. With Laburnums having already seen off UniBond League First Division North opposition in the shape of Prescot Cables in the FA Cup Preliminary Round, and this season's final of the county cup competition to be played at Bolton's Reebok Stadium, it is sure to be a tight contest in a tie that is to be played at Crilly Park on Spa Road, Atherton on Tuesday 29th September with a 7:45pm kick off.

im glad they switched it too crilly park ive never been pluss i dnt expect to be frisked by the orange army ther
