Fixture re-arrangements

Due to the unavailability of the Leigh Sports Village Stadium, Leigh Genesis have unfortunately been forced to switch their UniBond League First Division North fixtures with Colwyn Bay.

The Welsh outfit were originally scheduled to visit Leigh on Wednesday 16th September, but instead Genesis will visit the North Wales coast on Tuesday 15th September with a 7:45pm kick off. The return fixture will now take place at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium on Saturday 28th November with a 3pm kick off.

In the First Round of the Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy First Round, Genesis have been drawn against North West Counties League neighbours Atherton Laburnum Rovers. The date, venue and prices have yet to be confirmed, although it does mean that Leigh's scheduled league fixture away to AFC Fylde will now have to be re-arranged.

With last week's FA Cup exit after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Warrington Town, Genesis' previously blank weekend on 12th September has now been filled by switching the away fixture with Mossley, originally scheduled to take place on 6th February, to now take place on Saturday 12th September with a 3pm kick off.

Any idea what LSV's excuse is this time?

Was looking forward to at least making a day out of the away fixture maybe even staying over

P1ss take

Blackburn play Bolton two days before - what was the point of us moving to Wednesday's if they're going to get changed anyway?!

Needless to say, I've sent a rather strongly-worded e-mail to messrs Ditchfield and Toon (operations manager and chief exec of LSV) but have yet to receive a reply. I have, however, had contact from Andy Burnham's secretary though which is encouraging.

Do these people ever give a reason for messing the club about like this?

Surely the rugby has finished after this weekend, and surely there cant be a problem staging 2 FOOTBALL matches together as there is no need to swap the goalposts or re mark the pitch etc.

It really isnt good enough, I would love to know what the clubs contract with LSV says.

Hope you get a reply Matt either from the LSV or the MP

these two from the lsv management need get a grip, think down the line though things will change and heads will roll just that for this to happen we would probably need a court room. Im sure when this contract was signed for us to play at the lsv there was no mention of the 2 day rule or we would never have signed it.
this is a stadium for leigh teams and the leigh community so if theres a problem with playing 2 games in three days its blackburn who should moves dates or even better sod off completely!!

I'll tell you why I think they wont tell Blackburn to sod off.

The impression I'm getting from all this is that LSV or whoever has control of the stadium are anticipating a bigger crowd for the B'Burn Res V Bolton Res game and want to cash in.

Forget the team who represent the town where the stadium is situated. The team who had to play their home games all over the shop last season because the flaming stadium wasn't built on time. The team almost folded with the delay playing a major factor.

Nope they'd rather twe struggle to arrange their games because they might get a bit of extra coin out of it
