Witton Albion winger Steve Settle has ended his short exile from Leigh and returned to the club, just a matter of months after cutting short nearly two years as a fans favourite at Hilton Park as Genesis manager Lee Merricks looks to improve his young squad.

Having originally joined Leigh from Atherton Laburnum Rovers in October 2006, with his commitment and trickery quickly establishing him as a cult hero amongst the Leigh fans, making thirty seven appearances during last season's Blue Square North campaign.

Settle isn't the only player to be rejoining the club, with forward Ross Thaker returning to Leigh, where he spent the summer of 2008 training with the first team squad before signing for Witton Albion.

After making several appearances in the Witton side, including an appearance when they were defeated by Genesis in October, the former Oldham Athletic man has answered the call of Lee Merricks and re-signed for the club.

Also joining the club, albeit on a short term deal, is Peterborough United left back Danny Andrew, who is looking for first team football after appearing in Posh's youth team.

Although the loan signing of Crewe Alexandra midfielder Chris Clements has yet to be finalised, it is expected that he will complete a loan deal with Genesis early this week.
