Leigh Genesis and Atherton Collieries hope to make it third time lucky at Alder House tomorrow (Monday) evening as the two sides hope to finally play their Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy First Round tie, twice postponed in recent weeks.

Although the Alder House pitch was in a good enough state to host a reserve fixture against Cheadle Town on Saturday, the local area has seen a deluge of rain over the weekend and as such the game will again only take place if the referee deems the pitch to be playable.

The heavy rain put paid to FC United of Manchester's FA Trophy tie with Boston United at Gigg Lane this afternoon, but with dry weather expected for Monday, it is hoped that the game can finally go ahead.

If it again falls foul of the weather, another attempt to host the game will take place on Wednesday (26th November) evening, with Lee Merricks' young side desperate for another run-out as they look to build upon their 2-2 draw at Whitby Town last weekend.

Kick off is scheduled for 7:45pm tomorrow, with any postponements to be announced via the club's official website.
