The relegation destiny of Leigh RMI edges towards it's conclusion on Saturday when Nuneaton Borough visit Hilton Park in RMI's penultimate home game of the season. With Stuart Humphreys' side two points adrift of relegation safety, the pressure is on to get all three points from a Nuneaton side that haven't yet given up hope of qualifying for the play-offs, although RMI ran out 1-0 victors at Manor Park in the corresponding fixture earlier in the season.

Should RMI complete a season 'double' over Nuneaton and Stalybridge lose at Scarborough, then RMI will claw their way out of the relegation zone, albeit only on goal difference, ahead of the final two games of the season, away to second bottom Scarborough before Worksop visit Leigh on the final day of the season, with the Tigers having relegation worries of their own.

After four successive draws have prevented RMI from climbing out of the drop zone, the stalemates with Farsley, Lancaster, Moor Green and, most recently, Gainsborough, have at least kept Leigh in touch with their relegation rivals, although fourth bottom Redditch now have two games in hand to supplement their slender two points cushion ahead of RMI.

With the season at such a late stage, RMI's failure to turn draws in to victories has put them in grave danger, and quite simply they need to carry out their part of the survival deal and win their remaining fixtures, whilst hoping that other clubs do them a favour.
