McAuley set to join the Baggies

Roy Hodgson revealed today that he expects to secure the services of Ipswich Town defender Gareth McAuley for West Bromwich Albion next season.  The 31 year old has a wealth of experience and is said to be exactly what Hodgson is looking for to strengthen at the back over the summer. 

The Northen Ireland international has made over 120 appearances for Ipswich, but recently turned down a new contract at Portman Road. 

No deals or agreements have been made yet, but both player and club expect a deal to be thrashed out in the near future.
