New Poll: Is Di Matteo right to prioritise the Premiership?

West Bromwich Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo has told press this weekend that he will prioritise the Premier League over Wednesday's Carling Cup quarter final clash with Ipswich Town.  Albion are back up to 11th after yesterdays 4-1 thrashing of Everton at Goodison Park, with a 5 point safetly net over the bottom three.

And if recent past seasons are anything to go by, they already have at least half of the points tally needed for Premiership survival before the season reaches its midway point.

Albion face Ipswich Town this forthcoming Wednesdady at Portman Road in the last 8 of the competiton, and could see themselves in the semi finals of a competition for the second time in three seasons.  Albion could face Wigan Athletic, West Ham or Birmingham City in the next round if other ties go their way - all sides currently situated below them in the top flight.  Aston Villa also fit into that category.  But with Arsenal and Manchester United also still in the mix, is Di Matteo right to shelve the prospect of winning silverware behind Premiership survival? - with the Baggies already having picked up 3 points at the Emirates and a point at Old Trafford this season.
