Djemba-Djemba anger at Baggies u-turn

Cameroon International Eric Djemba-Djemba has hit out at West Bromwich Albion after his proposed move to the Hawthorns fell through last week. The 29 year old looked set to join the Premiership new comers until Albion discovered a problem with the players knee during a medical.

It is claimed that West Brom were prepared to £1 million to OB Odense for Djemba-Djemba, but tried to sign him for a lower fee once the medical team had discovered a problem with his knee.  In the end the Danish side recalled the 29 year old to the club and pulled the plug on any deal between the two sides.

But Djemba-Djemba has slammed West Brom for their actions stating that "I have been examined by several physicians in Denmark, who have all said it looks good.  And why would OB send me to England if they knew there was something wrong with me?"

He told The News of the World "I'm really mad at West Brom.  They tried to cheat OB and tried to get me cheaper. It is not fair"

However it is unlikely that anyone at the Hawthorns will be losing any sleep over Djemba-Djemba's comments.  In the business of Premiership survival Albion will not secure any signings unless they are right for the club.
