Di Matteo to step up Keeper search

West Bromwich Albion gaffer Roberto Di Matteo looks set to up his search for another goal keeper to rival Scott Carson. The Baggies are on the brink of promotion back to the top flight, and £3 million signing Scott Carson is still very much the number one keeper at the Hawthorns. But Di Matteo looks determined to keep his first choice keeper on his toes.

At the end of this current season current second goalie; Dean Kiely, will officially step back from a playing role as he takes on the role of goal keeper coach permanently.

Kiely will retain his player registration, but does not expect to be called into action as he officially becomes West Brom's thrid choice keeper.  Kiely has been working as goal keeper coach this season on a trial basis, but has impressed everyone at the club and has been rewarded with a permanent contract.

Seaching for a new keeper will now become a priority for Di Matteo, who could become a Premiership manager in little less than 48 hours time.  It is expected that any new arrival between the sticks will provide cover and competition for Carson, rather than replacing him as number one.
