West Brom have confirmed the signing of 26 year old ex Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth winger Jerome Thomas on a free transfer. Thomas joins West Bromwich Albion in time to be included in today's squad at Nottingham Forest, and manager Roberto Di Matteo believes that his Premiership experience will add extra depth to his squad as they push for promotion straight back to the Premier League.

Free agent Thomas was snapped up by West Brom after having summer trials at both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Hull City.

The winger is fully fit to start this afternoon after recovering from a hamstring injury which he picked up in a pre season friendly whilst on trial at Wolves.  Thomas, who started his career with Arsenal, is unlikely however to play a full 90 minutes until Di Matteo is 100% convinced of his match fitness.
