The issue surrounding one of Tony Mowbray's supposed targets was finally resolves yesterday when Real Mallorca's Nunes signed a new three year deal at the La Liga Club. Albion had been linked with the defender for a number of days, in what had been labeled as a triple swoop by Mowbray on the Spanish club, with reported interest also in Valero and Trejo.

Nunes would have set the Baggies back a staggering £8 million, but Mowbray is said to have seen the Portuguese star as the final piece in his defensive jigsaw.

Yesterday Nunes signed a three year deal with Mallorca, with the Spanish side ensuring his exit from the club to Albion, or anywhere else for that matter, comes at a high price, with his value now said to be at £11.8 million taking into consideration new release clauses in his contract.

In other transfer new however, Charlton boss Alan Pardew has admitted that the departure of Chinese International Zheng Zhi seems increasingly likely after bids for the player have reached £2 million.  The Baggies are believed to be heading the race for his signature.
