Renovations to Halford Lane stand behind schedule

Up to 1000 fas who purchased tickets for this afternoons final pre season fixture at the Hawthorns versus Real Mallorca, could be forced to moved seats because renovation work which is said to have cost the club around £3 million, to the Halfords Lane Stand has fallen behind Schedule. The stand was due for a grand opening this afternoon.

Work on the stand has been ongoing since the end of last the last campaign, and work should have been completed by today for an official opening just a week before the Premiership campaign kicks off.

A spokesman for West Bromwich Albion Football Club announced yesterday that work had failed to be completed in time, a factor which has been left largely responsible at the hands of contracted company Floors-2-Go, who are providing the entire flooring for the stand and who have fallen into financial difficulties.

Delays with the flooring have in turn meant that other contractors have been unable to complete their work, leaving the club with a race against the clock to complete work in time for Everton's visit to the Hawthorns two weeks today.

Fans who originally purchased tickets for the West Stand for this afternoons fixture and who are effected by the ongoing renovations can trade in their ticket at the ticket office for a seat in the Brummie Road end or in the East Stand.
