Albion travel to 10th placed Charlton Athletic this Good Friday afternoon to face an Alan Pardew side which has really fallen of the pace for automatic promotion in recent weeks. Albion were 4-2 victors of this league fixture earlier in the season at the Hawthorns, but scores were much more level between the two in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, Albion finally victorious in the replay.

Albion could leapfrog 3^rd placed Watford this tea time with a victory, and games in hand over top two sides Stoke City and Bristol City mean that their fate is still very much resting in their own hands.

Manager Tony Mowbray will certainly have selection problems with this one.  He already had injury concerns regarding Filipe Teixeira – who faces the remainder of the season on the sidelines, and James Morrison and Chris Brunt.  But Mowbray can now add Leon Barnett to that list who picked up a hamstring injury last weekend in the Baggies 4-1 defeat at home to Leicester City, and Sherjill MacDonald who needs knee surgery this week.

To add to his woes on-loan striker Luke Moore is also unavailable, he begins a three match ban for his dismissal last weekend at home to Leicester.  On the plus side Mowbray at least might have Carl Hoefkens back in contention, who returned to training this week after a hamstring injury.

Charlton gaffer Alan Pardew has less injury worries to think about, although he will be without winger Lloyd Sam who has a hamstring injury, and possibly Madjid Bougherra who remains doubtful with a foot injury.

This afternoon’s game kicks off at 5pm at The Valley, with live coverage starting at 4.30pm on Sky Sports.
