Four doormen from Scott’s Nightclub in Wrexham, North Wales, have this evening left the town at 7:00pm to cover 2556 miles to Real Madrid FC and back in 48 hours - to collect monies for the local Air Ambulance that covers the roads of North Wales.

Each rider left the inside of Scott’s Nightclub after being interviewed prior to starting out on their quest. Simon ‘Evesy’ Eve (leading the way above), Mark ‘Smudge’ Smith, Ray Grice and Carl Dodd have been planning the trip for some time, after a weekend ride to Paris last year.

Some local riders gathered outside Scott’s to wish them well, and some accompanied them as the four doormen left Wrexham. The main street outside Scott’s was blocked by local bikers, and a large crowd, as they waved them off - wishing them a welcome and safe return.

Each year the helicopter looks after the needs and requirements of road side recovery of injured motorists on the North Wales roads, especially favoured by motorcyclists from a wide area that come to visit the Welsh countryside with its twisting roads and beautiful scenery.

The Air Ambulance is solely funded from donations given freely from members of the public, and is a great asset to North Wales - and is also used for emergency recovery of householders, as well as road users who have been injured or taken ill.

The riders plan to arrive back in Wrexham by 7:00pm on Sunday evening, and will be collecting donations as and when they stop, and on their return. So if over the weekend you meet the Intrepid Four, please give them a donation.

Many local businesses have donated to the fund, including Demon Tweeks, Bill Smith Racing, Hein Gericke, The Hand Carwash Centre Wrexham, Wrexham Motoring and Raceline Photography - these are among just a few who are supporting this mind-blowing ride on four sportsbikes.

A film crew has been filming the run-up to the riders leaving Wrexham, and there will be film taken during the ride, which hopefully will be screened by the TV companies in the future.

If anyone would like to donate to the fund, you can call Anna on 01978-664618, who will be delighted to take any donations, no matter how small, for this great and much needed Air Ambulance.
