Overnight the starting grid for the 2007 Hungarian Grand Prix has changed due to some decisions from the FIA. Both Toyota's benefit from these. Firstly, reigning World Champion Fernando Alonso has been demoted from 1st on the grid to 6th due to his pit lane antics with team mate Lewis Hamilton. The FIA felt that Alonso had impeded Hamilton during their final pit stops in the final part of Qualifying. This allowed Alonso to have time for another lap in which he took pole position while his team mate Hamilton did not cross the start and finish line before the checkered flag had been waved meaning that the British Rookie did not have chance for a shot at pole position.

One major part of this though which could be critical to the out-come of the 2007 World Championship is that the FIA also felt that Mclaren had played a significant part in the pit stop proceedings meaning that Mclaren will not take any constructors championship points away from today's Grand Prix.

For us, Ralf Schumacher is the main beneficiary of this, moving up to fifth place on the grid.

Secondly, Renault's Italian driver Giancarlo Fisichella, like Alonso, has been demoted 5 places on the grid from 8^th to 13^th position for allegedly holding up Spyker driver Sakon Yamamoto during the first knock-out phase of Qualifying. Although Yamamoto would have been on the back of the grid anyway, Fisichella had impeded the Japanese driver enough to stop him from improving his time. For us, Jarno Trulli is the main beneficiary of this moving up one spot from 9^th on the grid, taking over 8^th place vacated by Fisichella.
