The Centurions' injury problems are mounting into a crisis, with the squad bereft of a single recognised full back and there will have to be a lot of shuffling to accomadate for other injuries ahead of Sunday's top of the table battle with Salford City Reds. Record-breaking full back Neil Turley is still having trouble with the back injury that plagued him for most of last season and forced him to withdraw from last weekend's victory away at Dewsbury only minutes from kick-off.
Turley's natural replacement would be Dave Alstead who was signed from Warrington Wolves in the summer. However, Alstead is sidelined witha shoulder injury and is doubtful for Sunday's match as is Michael Watts who would normally fill in at full back if both Turley and Alstead were injured as is the case this weekend.
This leaves a huge headache for Centurions coach Paul Terzis as to who to give the vital number one shirt to. Former Leeds Rhinons winger Leroy Rivett has been known to fill in at full back from time to time but he may be a bit suspect under a high ball and he is also struggling with an injury.
Terzis also has problems in the hooker after Paul Rowley broke a bone in his hand last weekend, although there is quite a straight forward solution to this problem. John Duffy is expected to move to hooker against his former club, with youngster Lee Sanderson filling in at scrum half in place of Duffy to partner in-form Aussie stand off Pat Weisner in the half back department.
