Young freescoring winger Eric Andrews has left Rugby League for a short period and has signed on loan for a local rugby union club in a bid to improve his fitness before the start of the National League One campaign.
Andrews, who scored 33 tries for the Senior Academy last season and also scored 5 tries against Gateshead for the first team, has joined Orrell Rubgy Union on loan for a couple of months.
Andrews could line up alongside former Wigan Warriors colleague, who has also joined Orrell after he ended his Rugby League career after playing at full back for Great Britain in the recent Test series against New Zealand.
