Blundell backs Button but questions Honda

ITV pundit, and ex-Grand Prix racer, Mark Blundell thinks that Jenson Button is capable of winning plenty of races, but his Honda RA106 may not be up to the task. "He's done 100-odd Grands Prix now, and I'd love to see the guy stand on the top step of the podium and start winning races," Blundell told fans at the Autosport International show. "He's got the ability and a car that will be at a level that can make the podium, but I'm not sure how good it will be to get to the top step."

Ahead of the launch of Honda Racing F1's new car on Wednesday, Blundell is not sure that the RA106 will be capable of providing Button the wins.

"It is all about the machinery," explained Mark. "If Lester Piggott rides an old nag you know he is not going to get the job done, and it is the same with F1.

"Jenson hasn't quite had the winning car yet."
