Lucky Strike BAR Honda's team boss Nick Fry rapidly figured out exactly why the team weren't as fast at Silverstone as they had hoped to be. 'We're not quite quick enough,' he managed to explain. "The good news is that we're clearly now a little bit faster than the Ferrari," said Fry moments after the race. "We've closed a little bit on the Renault, but clearly we've got the third fastest car and we need to work harder."

Jenson Button started second on the grid, but dropped back to fifth by the end of the race, behind the two McLarens and two Renaults.

"McLaren is going very fast indeed and clearly Kimi is driving very well," explained Fry. "Obviously our hope was that Jarno Trulli in the Toyota, which wasn't going quickly, would hold him back, which he did for a certain amount of time, but for us unfortunately not quite enough."

With a single weekend break before the next race at Hockenheim, the team arte electing to use another three of their 30 days testing, going off to Jerez in order to improve performance.

"We're going to work like crazy," said Fry. "Our testing is going very well indeed. We're among the most efficient teams. We do lots and lots of kilometres per day.

"We've just got to work harder."
