BAR Honda to fight FIA over Torque Transfer

Lucky Strike BAR Honda haven't given up on their torque transfer system yet, and are now to face the FIA's International Court of Appeal in a bid to get the system legalised.
The catchily titled 'electro hydraulic software controlled device' connects the front wheels via drive shafts and allows controlled torque transfer from a faster wheel to a slower wheel, even under braking. The system would have allowed later and deeper braking into corners, giving the team a clear advantage.
The system was put on the car for the German Grand Prix, but it was disallowed by the race stewards early on Saturday morning after the FIA's technical delegate Charlie Whiting was tipped off by rival teams.
The appeal will be held at 14:30 on Monday 9 August, at the FIA's Paris offices. A decision is expected around 24 hours later.
