Following on from the farce that was British Grand Prix qualifying, we're expecting a little more from the German GP. Bernie's no doubt had a word in the teams ears, so we shouldn't be seeing any more spinning Schumacher's. Although that might be a bad thing. One team not involved in the race for last was Lucky Strike BAR Honda. David Richards' helicopter based weathermen worked their magic to perfection.

The new found pace of the McLaren is a bit worrying for both BAR and our new arch-rivals Renault. The original target for the year was fourth, but things have moved on since then. Third could be looking tricky if Kimi racks up another few podiums.

The emasculated Hockenheim plays host to the next round of the F1 World Championship and, although it's not a very exciting circuit, it does at least have places to pass.

One place that wouldn't have that is the proposed London GP. The capital did itself proud recently by running F1 cars through the streets. It had its problems, but up to half a million people got closer to F1 than they could at any circuit.

Still not close enough, mind. No photo opportunities, no autographs, nothing. We spoke to people who'd spent 7 hours in the blazing sun waiting for a glimpse of F1 glamour, and the first they saw was 50 year old Nigel Mansell stalling last years Jordan.
