Germany: Barrichello hits out: Brawn lost me the race!

Rubens Barrichello has lashed out at Brawn GP, accusing the team of losing him the German Grand Prix. Barrichello, who qualified in second place, finished sixth behind his team mate following a difficult race in cool conditions, while rivals Red Bull took a 1-2 result.

"Well I guess it's on the strategy on the pitlane [that I lost the race]," explained Barrichello in the paddock. "It was a good show from the team on how to lose a race.

"For me I'm terribly upset with the way things have gone because I did all I had to do. I had to go first in the first corner, so I did, and then they [Brawn GP] made me lose the race."

"We're going to end up losing both championships, and that's even more terrible," continued Rubens. "I feel sorry for myself, I feel sorry for the team. To be very honest with you I wish I could get on the plane and go back home right now. I don't want to talk to anybody in the team because I don't want to understand. It'll be 'blah blah blah blah blah' and I don't want to hear that."

Rubens suffered a poor second pit stop following a fuel rig problem, losing around five seconds of time. Beyond that, it's difficult to understand where Rubens could have made a difference. Without that rig problem, he would probably have finished fourth, ahead of Nico Rosberg and team mate Jenson Button, but there was no possibility of winning this afternoon.

Rubens set the 11th fastest lap of the race, 1.3 seconds behind the fastest lap of Fernando Alonso who finished in seventh. He now drops to fourth place in the drivers world championship, behind Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, and 24 points behind leader Jenson Button.
