Following overnight rain in Jerez, the circuit remained damp this morning for the second day of the test, which prevented any meaningful track activity until 11.00am. Running was subsequently further delayed due to an engine failure on Fisichella's Renault which closed the track for a short time. James Rossiter joined the test today, taking over in chassis RA106-02 from Anthony Davidson. He spent his limited morning running finding a good balance on the car, completing 36 laps. In chassis RA106-06, Rubens Barrichello ran through an aero evaluation completing 31 laps.

Rubens then spent the afternoon session evaluating the best of the Chinese Grand Prix tyre options from yesterday. Rubens ran for a further 45 laps this afternoon taking his total for the day to 76 laps.

James continued to acclimatise himself with the car working on various set-up options. With a good balance found, he began a tyre programme also looking at the options for the next race. James completed 65 laps this afternoon for a total of 101 laps today.

Anthony will re-join the test for his second day of running tomorrow, taking over in chassis RA106-06 from Rubens.
