Visitors to the British International Motor Show at London's ExCel exhibition centre will be able to get closer than ever to an F1 car – not just close, but right inside! Following the launch of the 'View Suspended' art installation in Shanghai last year, where Dutch artist Paul Veroude dismantled a BAR Honda 007 and hung each part from a wire, Honda have taken the feature to the Docklands area of London for the British public to view.

Housed in a large glass room, the deconstructed car is viewable by all. Only a handful of people are let in at a time but, once you're inside, you'll be able to walk around, under and through a real F1 car, examining the intricate details that make up the BAR 007 – you’ll even be able to examine that fuel tank.



Deputy Technical Director at Honda Racing F1, Gary Savage, took a personal interest in the project. "After meeting Paul we were keen to work with him to develop the installation and showcase our work," he explained. "We know from our own experience, when we do drawings ourselves, exploded diagrams are very popular with people - you can see how things go together. This is a combination of engineering and sculpture - if you did it as a picture it would be very attractive but as a 3D thing it is even more stunning.

"It shows off our car in a very exciting and innovative way."

Honda's Head of Car Marketing, Jeff Dodds added "The first time we saw View Suspended, we knew it would be perfect for the London Motor Show. It's creative, imaginative and a must see for visitors to the Honda stand. I can't think of a better expression of Honda's passion for F1 and engineering."

Honda will be displaying a number of products at the show, starting with the View Suspended BAR Honda. Joining it will be the world premiere of the new Civic Type-S, as well as the Civic Type-R Concept, launched by Jenson Button earlier this year. The new Legend also makes it UK premiere.

Visitors to the show will also be able to test drive a variety of cars, including models from Honda. The Taster Test Drives allow the public to put each car through its paces on a 1.4 mile course around the site, with a mix of rough surfaces, tight slaloms and hairpin bends amongst some of the tests along the way.

The British International Motor Show is on now, with tickets starting at just £8 (about €12/$15). The show runs until 30 July.
