AFTER the midweek departure of coaches Jeremy Evans and Gareth Davies "by mutual consent" the Drovers fought hard but went down to another home defeat.

It was Llandovery's 11th consecutive defeat in 12 league games and underlined the huge task that awaits former coach Iestyn Thomas, who has returned to Church Bank in a caretaker role.

A penalty from fly-half Gareth Morgan and try by flanker Matthew Jefferies gave Llandovery a 10-0 lead before full-back Gareth David kicked a penalty.

David hit three penalties in 10 minutes to take his side into a 12-10 lead.

Bridgend moved the ball swiftly and centre Roger Davies got the all-important try, flanker Ceri Davies' injury-time answer for Llandovery all too late.
