The Celtic Warriors play the Scottish Borders in their first competitive match on Friday night. For news of the team to face the Borders read on.

The Celtic Warriors travel to Netherdale on Friday to face the Scottish Borders in their first ever competitive match. Coaches Lynn Howells and Allan Lewis are without 18 players due to international call ups and injuries but they will have Tongan pair Aisea Havili and Sililo Martens available to them for the trip.

The Warriors won the last of their pre-season friendlies against the Sale Sharks by 33 points to 22 and will be hoping to continue this good form against the Borders. Welcomed back to the team after international duty against Romania are Gareth Wyatt, Jon Bryant and Deiniol Jones whilst fellow international Richard Parks who missed out on one of the final 30 squad places will start on the bench.

The Warriors team to face the Borders on Friday night (KO 19.30) reads:
