Ponty to host Northern Bulls in new Challenge Cup

In a new challenge cup that will take place this November, Pontypridd, along with Llanelli, Cardiff and Bridgend will play host to South African opposition in a knockout style cup.

    It has been announced that Pontypridd will compete in an 8 team tournament this November. The whole idea of the tournament is to provide competitive games for four Welsh sides against South African opposition whilst the autumn internationals take place.

   Ponty will face the South African provincial team the Northern Bulls in a match at Sardis Road on Friday November 8th. Should Ponty beat the Bulls they will progress to the semi finals where they will meet one of other quarter final winners.

   The draw for the cup is as follows:

November 8th Pontypridd vs. Northern Bulls
Cardiff vs. Orange Free State
Llanelli vs. Western Province
Bridgend vs. Eastern Province
November 12th SEMI FINALS
November 15th FINAL
