Scottish Football League Division Three, Borough Briggs, Elgin. ELGIN CITY 1 (Bone 23) MONTROSE 3 (Smart (59), Sharp (76, 90)). At long last the Mo scored in the league and we get our first league victory all in one fell swoop.
Not that it looked that way at half time. With us one down and East Stirling inexplicably leading at Cowdenbeath, we could have been propping up the table at quarter to five.
Wood returned from injury and we sported new signing Paul Doyle at the back with the other new boy, Dodds, on the bench.
Elgin went ahead through the reliable Alex Bone, but the Mo's second half turnaround started in 59 minutes with Sharpy on the pitch for only a minute, Smart stabbed home the Mo's opener. Sharpy broke thorugh to score his first on 76 minutes and rounded off a fine half hour's work with a goal just on full-time.
